| Before entering the teaching profession Maggie spent 17 years working in medical research laboratories in universities, working on projects involving drugs e.g. seeking new antifungal agents to treat Thrush, working with a team producing and purifying an anti-cancer drug for clinical trials and using drugs to control cell replication mechanisms when investigating replication of the Influenza virus. Her interest in drugs and how they work in the body developed through this work. Maggie has worked in Education for 16 years. She taught (through all Key Stages) in an East Riding Primary School. She immediately began working in Health Education (alongside her teaching post) being the school’s Health Education Co-ordinator and working with the Humberside Health Education Team (for 5 years) until Humberside Education Authority was dissolved |

She then joined the East Riding School Improvement Service-Primary PSHCE Group (formerly the Primary Drug Development Team). During that time she was a key player in developing a PSHCE curriculum for use in all ER primary schools, was a teacher mentor for Drugs Education, delivering demonstration Drug Education lessons and was a member of the writing team for the ER Healthy Schools Award. She left the classroom to go into full time Health Education, as a Consultant on the Hull Healthy Schools Team, where she supported schools working through the Hull Healthy Schools Award and had responsibility for Drugs Education. She collaborated with The Fit for Football Team helping to develop healthier packed lunches, developed Healthy Eating Policy Guidelines for Hull schools and collaborated with Humberside Alliance Against Tobacco to promote smoking cessation. She also worked with FIVE A DAY and Hull City Council to promote healthy eating in schools. Maggie has received accreditation in the Certification of Teaching PSHE. |
| Sue has been a member of the teaching profession for 30 years and has experience working across both key stages in primary education. She is an Advanced Skills Teacher for Citizenship and worked as a Healthy School Consultant for the East Riding of Yorkshire Council before joining Hull City Council as Healthy School Consultant for Emotional Health and Well-being. She supported schools working towards gaining the Positive Health in Schools Award. Sue has many years experience in the field of PSHE and citizenship and helped to deliver a drug mentoring programme to teachers in primaries across the East Riding. She recently gained accreditation for the Certification of PSHE. Whilst working in the East Riding, Sue became a member of the Primary PSHCE group and was instrumental in helping develop curriculum planning material for PSHCE for use in all East Riding primary schools |

Sue was also a member of the writing team for the East Riding Healthy Schools Award. Away from education and health, Sue has a keen interest in alternative therapies. She is a Reiki Master, Aromatherapist and Hypnotherapist and is trained in Indian Head Massage. She also holds qualifications in counselling adults, children and families. During her time with Hull City Council, Sue helped facilitate a co-ordinated approach to supporting the mental health agenda in the school setting. She has also developed policy guidelines for PSHE and anti-bullying and produced training materials for establishing and developing a School Council. Sue has written material for, and delivered INSET on setting up a Buddy Scheme in schools. She has piloted a programme for improving playtimes in school, linked to a Pupil Play Leader’s Award. Sue has also worked with Hull City Council to promote healthy eating in schools |
